Lee Amento began practicing in 1998 as a trial attorney with a prominent liability insurance defense firm in Tallahassee, then relocated to South Florida and joined a statewide insurance defense firm in Fort Lauderdale. Since 2000, his practice has focused exclusively on workers’ compensation law.

From Defending Insurers to Defending Workers

During his time as a defense attorney, Lee litigated hundreds of claims for insurance companies and employers and served as a certified speaker, giving instructional seminars to adjusters and risk managers. In 2009, he joined Goldberg & Dohan and switched sides to represent injured workers, finding more professional and personal satisfaction in advocating for the people the system is supposed to protect.

Statewide Florida Practice

Lee is based in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale workers’ compensation office and handles claims in all jurisdictions throughout Florida. He lives in Broward County with his wife, an elementary school teacher, and their two sons.
